Federal skilled worker program

FSWP stands for Federal Skilled Worker Program was previously being used independently for Canada Permanent Resident Visa but now W.E.F January 2015, a new electronic system is being used for processing the PR Visa application under FSWP, that’s called as the Express Entry.

FSWP is basically a program that has been working for those Skilled Workers who are willing to immigrate to Canada on a permanent basis on the basis of their occupation and other credentials.

Here a person needs not to compulsorily have any Employment Offer, Work Permit or Family Sponsorship although it can be of some extra benefit in case any of the above mentioned credential is also available.

Work Experience Requirement

One Must:

Have the work experience in the same type of job as the primary NOC.

Have the work experience during the last 10 years only.

Be engaged into a paid work (not self-employment or Voluntary).

Have the occupation in category “O”,”A” or “B” of 2011 NOC.

Have done at least 1560 Hrs. of work in duration of one year (Full Time).

Language Adaptability Test Requirement

Must score as per the minimum requirement in any Approved Language Test.

For Canada, either English or French or Both can be an option as per scenarios.

Educational Requirement

In case of Education from Canada – Secondary/Post-Secondary Diploma/Certificate will be required.

In case of Education from outside Canada – ECA report from any govt. authorized body with equivalency as per Canada Secondary/Post-Secondary Education.

Stay Duration

Can stay permanently but the Visa initially comes with a validity of 5 years which can be extended further after the expiry of its validity

This feature has been added to ensure that you are staying with good intentions and are adhering with the Countries standards and regulations and also to provide you an opportunity that you can apply for Canadian Citizenship after staying for a specific duration in Canada.

Costing For Visa

Government fee for submitting the Visa application in FSWP program is CAD 550 (Per applicant including the main applicant) and CAD 150 (For children under 19 years age and not having any partner) which can be calculated in INR as per the current CAD value in INR.

Apart from this there will be some other government charges that you have to pay for the ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) of your occupation to the respective government body and the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (CAD 490). The exact amount for these fees can be checked over the respective government website.
